New patients entitled to the unique TLC Lifetime commitment
La Jolla, Calif., February 15, 2010
What is the TLC Lifetime Commitment®?
At TLC, we stand behind your vision results for life because we have confidence in our surgeons and in the stability of our patients' long term results. Our intention is to help you maintain the best possible vision throughout your life.
We call it the TLC Lifetime Commitment. The primary benefit of the program is TLC's assurance that if an enhancement is needed to maintain vision results, clinically qualified participating patients will receive a same technology enhancement procedure without charge at any TLC Laser Eye Centers location across North America.
Who is eligible for the TLC Lifetime Commitment?
The TLC Lifetime Commitment program includes qualified patients* who have had laser vision correction at a TLC Center by a participating surgeon. Please read the program's detailed guidelines for complete information.
To Maintain Eligibility in the TLC Lifetime Commitment
- Complete your course of post-operative appointments after treatment.
- Have your annual eye-exam with your TLC affiliate doctor.
- See membership guidelines for complete details.
The First Year
At TLC Laser Eye Centers, every patient receives one year of free same technology enhancement coverage. We call this the TLC Standard Enhancement Policy.
What if I require a Custom LASIK upgrade?
If you are eligible for the TLC Lifetime Commitment, had Conventional LASIK and require a Custom LASIK enhancement, you will be charged for the difference between the current retail cost of Conventional LASIK and the current retail cost of Custom LASIK. If you originally had Custom LASIK, your enhancement is without charge.
What if I am not eligible for the TLC Lifetime Commitment?
If it is within 12 months of your original procedure and an enhancement is medically advisable, patients who are not eligible for the TLC Lifetime Commitment will receive TLC’s Standard Enhancement Policy.
How do I enroll in the TLC Lifetime Commitment Program?
Patients are automatically enrolled in the TLC Lifetime Commitment upon completion of laser vision correction treatment, subject to the guidelines.
*TLC Lifetime Commitment available only at participating centers. Please ask your center staff if you're eligible.
TLC Laser Eye Center La Jolla is the first in San Diego to offer iFS Intralase
LA JOLLA, CA – February 20th, 2010 – TLC Laser Eye Center La Jolla is the first in San Diego to offer iFS Intralase (www.amo-ilasik.com), the most advanced, bladeless, flap technology in the world today.
What is iFS Intralase? iFS creates a precise, unique, reverse cut flap in the eye with less energy, providing patients with quicker procedures, faster recovery times and less risk of complications.
“Our clinical team at TLC La Jolla selected the iFS technology in order to provide our patients a faster, stronger and safer LASIK experience,” said Dr. David J. Schanzlin, TLC La Jolla Medical Director and Professor of Ophthalmology, Director, Keratorefractive Surgery at the Shiley Eye Center, UCSD. “Our initial 250 cases performed late last year confirm the findings of a Navy study which shows improved vision as compared to previous models of Intralase Technology. iFS is now the preferred treatment of Naval aviators.”
“My experience at TLC La Jolla was nothing short of amazing,” says San Diego resident Randi Stieglitz and one of the first 250 to receive the new iFS treatment. “Dr. Schanzlin is truly a master at his craft. I have him and the rest of the TLC staff to thank for my perfect vision.”
“As a progressive and involved optometrist, I have worked closely with TLC, the world’s most advanced and largest laser vision group, in a highly collaborative fashion for over a dozen years.“ says Dr. Michael Goldsmid, Stieglitz’s optometrist with San Diego-based Arena Eyeworks Optometry (www.arenaeyeworks.com). “With their unique resources and talent, they have a track record of often being the first to develop or introduce new and innovative technologies, like iFS Intralase. Due to Randi’s steeper than average corneal curvatures, this new iFS technology was key in our ability to recommend and safely perform her LASIK procedure.”
